The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Williamson County in southern Illinois...
  Franklin County in south central Illinois...

* Until 945 PM CDT.

* At 647 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area, particular in southern Franklin 
  and northern Williamson Counties. Up to three inches of rain has 
  already fallen, with the heaviest between Zeigler, West Frankfort, 
  Orient, and Freeman Spur. Flash flooding is expected to begin 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Herrin, West Frankfort, Benton, Johnston City, Christopher, 
  Sesser, Zeigler, Royalton, Energy, Hurst, Valier, and West City.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the 
warned area.


Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
