Weather Summary for Arkansas

Scattered showers and thunderstorms affected much of Arkansas on 
Wednesday. The combination of rainfall and abundant cloud cover held 
down daytime highs over most of the state. High temperatures on 
Wednesday range from the lower 80s to the middle 90s. Similar to the 
last few days, most of the activity diminished in the early evening 

In the coming days, high pressure aloft is forecast to strengthen 
over the region. This will result in diminishing rain chances for 
most areas, along with hotter temperatures. Highs on Thursday will 
will top out in the 90s to around 102 degrees. On Friday, highs will 
range from the mid 90s to around 103 degrees. 

Afternoon heat index values will range from 105 to 110 degrees in 
many areas Thursday and Friday afternoon, with Heat Advisories 
already posted for part of Arkansas. Remember to drink plenty of 
water, stay in an air-conditioned room if possible, stay out of the 
sun, and check up on relatives, neighbors and pets.
