dominant VFR conditions ongoing.

.PREV DISCUSSION...(ISSUED 321 AM CDT Sun Sep 15 2019)

SHORT TERM...Today Through Monday Night

Quiet conditions are ongoing across the CWA early this Sun
morning...with mainly light and variable winds in place. Above
normal temps and dry conditions will be seen for this Sun...similar
conditions to what was seen on Sat. Upper level ridging and weak SFC
high pressure will keep temps in the upper 80s to upper 90s...or
just slightly warmer than Sat. The chances for precip will also
remain low. With very little change expected for Mon...expect nearly
persistence with the forecast for Mon afternoon...with maybe a
slight increase in warmth. Mostly dry conditions will continue into
the long term period.

LONG TERM...Tuesday Through Saturday

No big changes are expected in the extended period. A ridge of high
pressure will hold strong from the southern Plains to the Ohio
Valley. As the ridge stays put, a large trough will dig over
the western United States. Over time, the trough will gradually
advance toward Arkansas, with a cold front slowly approaching from
the Plains. However, during this time frame, the ridge will
keep the front from getting here.

The bottom line is it will remain hot and largely dry with above
average temperatures in the forecast. Have isolated afternoon and
evening thunderstorms developing from Thursday through the first
part of next weekend. Any precipitation will be mainly over the
northwest half of the state nearest the incoming front.

.LZK Watches/Warnings/Advisories...NONE.
