Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
1138 PM CDT Sat Sep 21 2019

VFR conditions should prevail thru most of the period. Exceptions,
similar to the past 24 hours, will be some intermittent MVFR cigs
mixed in during the late night thru mid morning hours. Expect sct
precip development offshore prior to sunrise to eventually spread
inland with heating during the mid to late morning hours and
continue into the afternoon. Activity should wane toward sunset
with the loss of heating. 47

.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 918 PM CDT Sat Sep 21 2019/
No major updates this evening with partially cloudy skies briefly
becoming mostly overcast across many interior counties around and
shortly after sunrise as the lower levels saturate up. There is a
greater than a coin toss chance that the Brazos River Valley will
awake to cloudy skies. Resident moisture is still high enough to
not only create at least partly cloudy Sunday skies but keep
slight to low end early day shower and afternoon storm chances
intact. A mid to late morning break in cloud cover should allow
many to warm into the upper 80s by Noon. Progged mid 80 F
convective temperatures will easily be met by late morning. Thus,
early day southern county/maritime shower activity will likely
blossom into more widespread afternoon SHRA or -TSRA behavior
across the central and northern forecast area. Precipitation
coverage will probably be more than today but less than Friday, or
a third of the area could run into a quick hitting shower or
storm. Due to continued high regional moisture, moderate afternoon
southeasterlies and passing periodic rain, maximum temperatures
will again reach or slightly exceed the 90 F degree mark, middle
90s over the far western edge of the CWA. 31
